Interview response

I'm glad Angie made us have a mock-up interview because I feel like it helped us prepare for a real interview. I think the personal questions Angie asked during the interview help one to get a good feeling on what to prepare for and what to expect. I think I will do a lot better and feel more comfortable in a real interview because I have been through the same process or at least a similar situation. I think this is a great exercise and I feel like it should definitely been done in the years to come.

Finished the steps!!!

After working for 2 weeks on this project, I finally finished the brick steps on spring st. in Walhalla. Wow they came out beautiful probably the best steps I have been so far. I took me about half a week to come up with a design that would fit the house, and then another half a week to prepare the work area like take apart the old steps and pour the footing for the new steps and about a full week to build them. I will definitely post the steps for everyone to view, once I get some pictures. I still need to pressure wash the steps but Walhalla has a water restriction at the moment so do not know when I can use the pressure washer in the city limits. Just wanted to keep everyone posted on the steps

Presentations

The presentations were all really great; I think everyone did a good job. I really enjoyed mark's presentation. About his lifestyle in France and the way he lived in an ordinary day in France. I believe I loved the pictures he showed us the most about the presentation they were really nice and easy to relate to. The pictures were clear and showed a lot about the lifestyle in France. It reminded me a lot of the trips I take to Mexico, I do not remember how it is to live there but it still reminded me of the transformation one goes through entering and leavening a country.

Next ten years

In the next ten years I hope to have a family of my own. Hopefully with the blessing of God I hope to be blessed with at least 2 kids, a boy and a girl. As for my career I hope to have finished my masters by then, and hopefully have found a really good job with an architectural firm in a big city, like NY, or Atlanta. I want to focus on designing churches so hopefully the firm I’m working for has a department focusing only on religious designs. I also want to start a construction business, so hopefully in ten years, I should have already started it, and want to get into residential construction focusing on nice areas like keowee key and nice sub-divisions.

Article on cover sheet

After reading the article on the cover sheet, "Pretty in Ink" It is really clear that having a interesting cover sheet is extremely important. I was really fascinated with the fact that a big company receives about 400 resumes for only 40 open positions and in these resumes employers find only 5 % with interesting, eye catching cover sheets. So i learned that it is extremely important to have the upper hand with employers you have to design an interesting cover sheet for your resume to capture the eyes of employers. The cover sheet will tell the employer how creative a person is, especially for my major which is architecture, one needs creativity to get a good job.

about the interview article

I really like the article with the title "How to keep your cool in the interview hot seat" because it talks about why people can not keep their cool during an interview. I can easiely relate to this topic because i feel like this all the times, and i feel that the answer was a good solution to the problem people have during interviews. For example, self encouragement is a great way to build up your confidence while entering an interview and just feeling good about yourself is probably the most important key in keeping your cool in an interview. Telling yourself that your are good enough to work for the company that is interviewing you. Also the article gives you several examples of questions asked in interview and how you should respond to them.
